Safe Needle Removal Is As Easy As 1-2-3
Research shows that the more a needle is handled, the greater the risk of accidental sticks and exposure to blood pathogens. Post Medical's A.N.D. system uses a patented design to automatically remove needles using only one hand with a fast and simple three-step process. With the A.N.D, removing needles takes only a few seconds, and most importantly, eliminates the need to handle the needle thus decreasing the risk of accidental sticks.
- Step 1 — Holding END (flange) of the needle holder, position the holder vertically into the center hole at the top of the container. DO NOT PLACE FINGERS ON THE HOLDER BARREL.
- Step 2 — Slightly rotate the needle holder a quarter turn to the left (counterclockwise). While keeping the fingers OFF the holder's barrel, slowly push the holder as far downward as it will go. As you push down three (3) distinct "CLICKS" will be heard. After the third "click", the needle will be safely removed and deposited into the container.
- Step 3 — The needle removal process is now complete. The large slotted hole may be used for disposing of most lancets and butterflies. For increased economy, gently shake the unit from side to side to distribute the used needles evenly in the bottom of the unit.
