 Designed
for Safety
Molded of durable, thick-walled puncture-resistant plastic,
the A.N.D. Sharps Containment System resists leaks and spills,
reducing risks to phlebotomists and other nursing personnel.
The A.N.D. devices do not contain heavy metal pigments or
latex.
Automatic Safety Feature
The A.N.D. device's automatic locking mechanism is
a patented safety feature. Upon reaching the maximum safe
capacity (approximately 200±
needles for standard size, 750±
needles for large size), the mechanism automatically locks
in the down position making it impossible to automatically
accept additional needles. The unit may not appear to be full
because a safety zone (see diagram) is incorporated into the
device to prevent overfilling - keeping used needles safely
away from the user. The Safety Zone is specifically designed
to keep sharps safely away from from users. Without this Safety
Zone, personnel could be subject to accidental needle sticks
due to overfilling.
