A.N.D. Cost Savings
 |
Post Medical's
A.N.D. (Automatic Needle Disconnect)
system allows personnel to safely,
quickly and automatically remove used
blood collection needles USING
ONLY ONE HAND with no change
in technique. There are no extra parts to
purchase or inventory - the A.N.D. is a
self contained system.
The A.N.D. provides
a major step forward in safety, yet on
average, the cost per procedure is less
expensive and more economical than
"open top" style phlebotomy
containers:
|
- Fewer A.N.D.
units are needed
- the A.N.D. will not accept bulk waste like cap
covers, cotton balls, gauze, paper packaging, etc
that fill up "open top" containers unnecessarily.
The A.N.D. only
accepts blood collection needles, lancets and butterflies.
- Reduced
disposal costs - on average, one
A.N.D. unit will outlast 3 to 5
"open top" style
phlebotomy containers. Fewer
containers used result in decreased
disposal costs!
- The
A.N.D. unit automatically
eliminates overfilling - THE
major cause of accidental needle
sticks - The A.N.D. will not
allow personnel to place fingers
into the container - it is a
closed system.
- Important
Safety Features -
- The
three click
"ratchet"
gearing will not allow
the mechanism to retract
until the full downstroke
has been completed.
- The
A.N.D. unit locks in the
down position when safely
filled and will no longer
automatically accept
additional needles.
- Prove
the economy of the A.N.D. -
Date the bottom of the A.N.D.
unit and your existing container.
This side by side comparison will
allow you to see, firsthand, the
fewer number of A.N.D.'s
necessary to dispose of
infectious waste versus your
current system....
